"Gov. Tony Evers is taking Legislative Republicans to court after a move by a legislative committee to withhold pay raises for thousands of Universities of Wisconsin staff members that were approved in the executive budget. . . . The lawsuit accused of Republicans of overriding his powers as Governor, not just with the pay raises. Evers argues that the Legislature is blocking state conservation programs, updates to the state’s commercial building standards and ethics standards for licensed professionals."
