The State Democracy Research Initiative invites you to join us for our panel, "State Constitutions & Criminal Law", on September 24th from 12:00 - 1:00 pm CT at the University of Wisconsin Law School (975 Bascom Mall, Madison, WI 53706). This panel will focus on distinctive approaches to criminal law issues under state constitutions. We will cover a range of topics, including protections against cruel and unusual punishment, limits of unreasonable searches and seizures, rights of juvenile offenders, prison conditions, and the rights of incarcerated people.
Panelists will include Adam Davidson (University of Chicago Law School), Martha Davis (Northeastern Law School), Christine Monta (MacArthur Justice Center), and Matthew Segal (ACLU).
