Election Matters 2026 | 2026 Midterm Elections: Risks and Responses

This annual panel, part of the Elections Matters series, will review major democracy-related rulings from the past year at both the state and federal levels. Panelists will include Special Counsel Amit Agarwal of Protect Democracy, Chief Counsel Christina Bull Arndt of the California Department of Justice, Attorney Julie Murray of the ACLU State Supreme Court Initiative, and former U.S. Solicitor General Don Verrilli.

On June 30th, 2022, the Elections Research Center at UW-Madison and the State Democracy Research Initiative hosted another virtual installment of Election Matters 2022, sponsored by Stafford Rosenbaum LLP. This webinar explored hot topics in redistricting law, with emphasis on the Voting Rights Act, and consider the proper role of courts and other federal and state institutions in the redistricting process.
