On July 11th, the State Democracy Research Initiative and the Elections Research Center at UW-Madison hosted the second event in the Election Matters 2024 series: “Year in Review: Democracy Litigation in SCOTUS and the States” sponsored by Stafford Rosenbaum LLP. Moderated by SDRI Faculty Co-Director, Professor Miriam Seifter, panelists Pamela Karlan (Stanford Law School), Derek Muller (Notre Dame Law School), Gowri Ramachandran (Brennan Center for Justice), and Rylee Sommers-Flanagan (Upper Seven Law) provided a case law year in review, highlighting significant election-related decisions at both the state and federal levels.

Panelists will include Special Counsel Amit Agarwal of Protect Democracy, Chief Counsel Christina Bull Arndt of the California Department of Justice, Attorney Julie Murray of the ACLU State Supreme Court Initiative, and former U.S. Solicitor General Don Verrilli.
