Election Matters 2023: Year in Review: Democracy Litigation in SCOTUS and the States

On July 11th, 2023, the State Democracy Research Initiative and the University’s Elections Research Center kicked off our Election Matters 2023-24 series with a panel entitled “Year in Review: Democracy Litigation in SCOTUS and the States.” The panel—featuring Alicia Bannon (Brennan Center), Abha Khanna (Elias Law Group), Ryan Park (North Carolina Solicitor General), and Prof. Steve Vladeck (University of Texas Law School)—explored significant election-related rulings at both the state and federal levels, including Moore v. Harper and Allen v. Milligan, and discussed what those decisions may portend for litigation during the 2024 election cycle. The Election Matters series is sponsored by Stafford Rosenbaum LLP.
