Baby Ninth Amendments

On September 19th, the State Democracy Research Initiative and the Federalist Society at the UW Law School hosted a panel entitled “Baby Ninth Amendments”. The discussion was focused on the content of panelist Anthony Sanders’ newest book, “Baby Ninth Amendments: How Americans Embraced Unenumerated Rights and Why It Matters.” The panel discussed the historical origins of unenumerated rights in state constitutions, and how they differ from those afforded by the Ninth Amendment.

Panelists included  Professor Miriam Seifter (UW Law School, SDRI faculty co-director), Lucas Vebber (Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty), and Anthony Sanders (Institute for Justice)
