The State Democracy Research Initiative invites you to join us for “Housing Rights and State Constitutions” on Friday, September 27th from 3:00-4:15pm Central Time, with a reception to follow. This event will take place in person in Lubar Commons on the seventh floor of the UW Law School. The event is approved for 1.5 Wisconsin CLE Credits.
The panel will address the role of state constitutions and institutions in addressing housing shortages, as well as questions of development planning and the rights of unhoused people. Our panelists will include Professor Lisa Alexander (Boston College Law School), Professor Christopher Elmendorf (UC Davis School of Law), Dave Giffen (Coalition for the Homeless), and Diana Simpson (Institute for Justice). The panel will be moderated by SDRI Faculty Co-Director: Professor Miriam Seifter.
