Harrison Stark

Harrison Stark is Senior Counsel, Director of Special Projects with the State Democracy Research Initiative at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he focuses on civil rights and remedies, state and federal relations, and amicus work. Harry joined SDRI after several years with the Vermont ACLU affiliate, where he litigated a range of civil rights and civil liberties matters in state and federal court, including cases addressing free speech, anti-discrimination, reproductive rights, and government transparency. Prior to that, he was an assistant attorney general and appellate litigation fellow at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, where he spearheaded the District’s amicus and multi-state litigation practice in the federal courts of appeal and U.S. Supreme Court, including briefs on behalf of multi-state coalitions in voting rights cases related to the 2020 election.

Harry graduated from Yale Law School in 2018 before clerking for the Honorable Randolph D. Moss on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the Honorable David S. Tatel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
